Mariah Odegaard/When Reading Feels Like Too Much

When Reading Feels Like Too Much

So it doesn’t turn into pressure for you or your child

You sit down to read together.

Your child loses interest.

Gets distracted.

Pushes back.

And it starts to feel like,

too much.

Too much to manage

Too much to push through

Too much to keep trying

This isn’t how you wanted reading to feel.

This moment can go differently by changing how you move through it.

When Reading Feels Like Too Much

A simple shift in how you approach reading,

so it feels calmer, easier, and more connected.

Why I Made This

As an educator and parent, I've seen firsthand the impact that negative attitudes towards reading can have on children.

I created this series because I believe every child deserves to find joy in reading, just like I did as a child.
