Blogging on Podia

You have good ideas that would be helpful to others. Maybe you've been thinking about starting a blog or you already have one.

I started blogging because I too I was told I have good ideas that should be shared because these ideas could help people.

I started my blog on Podia before there was an official blogging area just by using Podia's website tools. You can see it where my vlog is currently (as of writing this). More on why this is the case later on in this post.

Simply Blogging on Podia

I like simplicity. No, I love simplicity. Blogging on Podia is simple.

Simple to select:

• New Post Button

• Save and Edit with the click of a button

• Publish immediately or choose a custom date in a drop down menu

• Upload a featured image and select in a drop down menu about comments being visible or hidden

• Choose to add a social image and toggle showing in search results

Simply write in on the same page as editing the post:

• Simple to change your post URL

• Write in alt text and the excerpt for the post as it appears on your site

• Choose SEO title + description

Editing Post

Speaking of editing. Writing the post of course comes from you, but editing is simple and a menu that pops up enabling some fun, like:

• Headings

• to small size of font

• Text alignment (align left or in the middle or switch it to the right)

• Bold, Italics, cross through, highlight (choose a color)

• Super simple to add links and link to other pages on your podia website

• Bullets points (I like these), but sometimes a numbered list is helpful too

• Code block and the ability to blockquote (I haven't played with these, yet.)

More Features

We can Insert:

• handy dandy downloads directly in the post is very helpful to give out a freebie to readers

• image upload to break up the text and make it more visually appealing

• embed feature for video links, so the videos show up right in the post

• add a button to link to what you'd like

• add a line to separate content

I can add all these in here, but that would feel a bit cluttered. Don't you think?

About Those Videos

I'm hoping we will be able to upload videos to the new blogging area the same way we can on other areas of the site. Then I'll merge my vlog with my blog.

Now we can link videos from other places like Youtube, Vimeo, or other video platform to our blogs, but that only works (as far as I can tell) if the video has a direct link. So video shorts on youtube don't exactly link directly. A whole page of video shorts is on the one link, but not one specific short video.

Final Thoughts

All in all I love having the opportunity to have all of my resources on one website. So the simplicity of blogging on Podia is an added plus.
